Sunfire Coreopsis

Sunfire is a bushy Coreopsis grandiflora selection with single golden-yellow flowers centered by a deep red to burgundy eye. Its upright stems rise above a mound of green foliage, and flowering can continue over a long season. ## Flowers and placement [PanAmerican Seed](https://www.panamseed.com/products/018900660016611/coreopsis-sunfire/) lists 24 inches tall, 22–24 inches wide, full sun, and USDA zones 4a–9b. The [RHS cultivar profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/256918/coreopsis-grandiflora-sunfire/details) describes a bushy clump around 50 cm tall and flowering from spring into summer. These sources differ on mature height, so the numeric height is left unresolved; the 24-inch label follows the seed breeder, and the existing width is retained. ## Maintenance Use well-drained soil and full sun for the strongest flowering. RHS describes the plant as short-lived, so it may be grown as an annual where winter survival is uncertain.
