l Bang™ Tickseed

Li'l Bang™ 'Daybreak' is a compact Coreopsis hybrid with red flowers edged in yellow-orange above green foliage. Proven Winners identifies the selection as USPP 27,138 and lists an 8–12 inch height, a 12–18 inch spread, summer flowering, and USDA zones 5a–9b. [The Proven Winners profile](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/coreopsis/lil-bang-daybreak-tickseed-coreopsis-hybrid) supplies selection-specific growing and landscape details. ## In the Garden The low, mounded habit suits a sunny border, container, mass planting, or cut-flower planting. Its orange-red and gold flowers bring a bright edge of color through summer and into early fall, and the profile notes butterfly visits. ## Growing Conditions Grow in sun with average, well-drained soil. Water regularly while establishing and during prolonged dry spells; the breeder describes the plant as moderately drought tolerant once growing. The listed hardiness range spans zones 5a through 9b. ## Maintenance Keep neighboring plants from crowding the mound and trim spent stems when a tidier appearance is wanted. Use the published mature height and spread ranges for spacing rather than assuming one exact size for every garden.
