About Coreopsis NOVA 'Jewel'

Coreopsis NOVA® 'Jewel' is a compact selection with clear green foliage and flowers that open yellow at the center and deepen to a lilac-pink edge. TERRA NOVA lists the plant at about 10 inches tall by 14 inches wide and reports summer-to-fall flowering in zones 5–10. [The breeder's NOVA 'Jewel' profile](https://www.terranovanurseries.com/product/coreopsis-nova-jewel/) identifies the cultivar and its garden traits. ## In the Garden Set this small mound near a path, at the front of a mixed border, or in a container where the flower color can be appreciated. It also works in mass plantings and mixed beds; TERRA NOVA notes that bees and other pollinators visit the flowers. ## Growing Conditions Give it full sun and average, well-drained soil. The profile lists June through September as bloom months and describes the plant as hardy in USDA zones 5–10. Allow for local differences in flowering time and mature size. ## Maintenance Water during establishment and when rainfall is lacking, while keeping the soil draining freely. Remove spent stems if desired to refresh the display, and leave enough space for the compact mound to develop.
