Create design onlineAbout Moonbeam Threadleaf Tickseed
Coreopsis verticillata ‘Moonbeam’ is a fine-textured perennial with soft yellow, daisy-like flowers above green, threadlike foliage. Proven Winners lists spring and summer bloom, a rounded mounded habit, full sun, mature height of 15–18 in., spread of 16–20 in. and zones 3a–9b; the Royal Horticultural Society also recognizes the named cultivar.
## Garden Use
Use ‘Moonbeam’ along a sunny path, at the front of a mixed border, or in a repeated drift where its airy foliage and pale flowers can weave between neighboring plants. The current catalog’s larger 18–24 in. size labels remain plausible because the exact cultivar sources offer different mature ranges; the recorded metric points are retained rather than replaced by a point selected from either range.
## Growing Conditions
Proven Winners recommends sun and notes heat and drought tolerance, with water adjusted after establishment. Flowers attract butterflies. Deadheading can encourage repeat bloom and limit seedlings; shear plants if they become untidy in summer.
## Maintenance
Divide established clumps every two to three years if they become crowded or bloom less freely. Clean up spent stems as needed.
