About Cherry Vodka™ Variegated Dogwood

Cherry Vodka™ is the trade name for the compact dogwood cultivar ‘Chovozam’. Its thick leaves have green centers and creamy margins, often taking on pink or burgundy tones in autumn; bright red stems carry the display into winter. White flowers and clear white fruits add seasonal detail. ([Trees and Shrubs Online](https://www.treesandshrubsonline.org/articles/cornus/cornus-alba/); [‘Chovozam’ plant patent](https://www.hort.net/pedia/patent/grant/25469/)) ## Landscape Use The rounded, compact shrub fits borders and grouped plantings where its variegated foliage and red stems are visible. Allow room for the mature spread; sources differ between a young three-year trial size and larger nursery dimensions. ## Growing Conditions This deciduous Cornus alba selection blooms in late spring or early summer. The patent describes an upright, rounded, suckering habit and at least USDA zone 4 hardiness. Its cultivar-specific three-year trial measurements were smaller than some retail listings, so the catalog’s existing 4–5 ft. mature display is retained as a documented alternate estimate.
