Cloud 9 is a flowering dogwood selection noted for abundant white spring bracts and a broad, rounded form. At about 15 feet tall and 20 feet wide, it can suit a smaller garden while still needing space for its horizontal branches.
## Form and seasonal interest
The Morton Arboretum describes Cloud 9 as broadly rounded, about 15 feet tall and 20 feet wide, with white flowers. A University of Florida IFAS cultivar note also describes many white bracts and flowering at an early age. Like other Cornus florida, it has dark green summer leaves, reddish-purple fall color, and red fruit. ## Siting
Plant in sun to partial shade and acidic, moist, well-drained soil. Choose a sheltered spot and avoid prolonged drought or poor drainage; the species is sensitive to both. This cultivar works as a flowering specimen in residential or woodland gardens.
## Maintenance
Water during establishment and extended dry spells. Apply a light mulch over the shallow root zone, without piling it against the trunk, and avoid disturbing roots. Cloud 9 belongs to Cornus florida in Cornaceae, as classified by [Kew](https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn%3Alsid%3Aipni.org%3Anames%3A271574-1/general-information).
