Create design onlineAbout Apollo™ Bright Carmine Cosmos
Apollo™ Bright Carmine is a red-flowered Cosmos bipinnatus color variety in Syngenta’s Apollo™ series, listed as product 70113273. The breeder describes it as upright and naturally compact, with garden dimensions around 55–65 cm tall and 40–50 cm wide; these are planning ranges, and local conditions can shift the final size.
## Garden Use
Use this annual in sunny borders, containers, and cutting gardens, where its red daisy-like flowers add a clear block of color. Syngenta lists the variety as pollinator friendly and records flowering from mid to late spring through summer. Cosmos bipinnatus is also useful in cottage and butterfly gardens.
## Growing Conditions
Give it open sun or light afternoon shade and a reasonably drained bed. Cosmos generally needs at least a half day of direct sunlight; water freshly sown seed while it germinates, and monitor plants in prolonged dry weather. In exposed, windy sites, taller stems may benefit from support.
## Seasonal Display
The Apollo series is selected for compact, upright plants and large flowers. Bright Carmine’s breeder page records red flowers and the 55–65 cm by 40–50 cm garden range. Its green, finely divided foliage keeps the display airy between blooms. ## Maintenance
Remove spent blooms to encourage more flowers and reduce unwanted seedlings. Leave a few seedheads only if self-sowing is desired.
