Create design onlineAbout Apollo™ Lovesong Cosmos
Apollo™ Lovesong is a red Cosmos bipinnatus color variety in Syngenta’s Apollo™ series, listed as product 70092118. The breeder calls out its distinctive bicolour flowers and describes an upright annual about 55–65 cm tall and 50–60 cm wide, with flowering from mid-spring through fall.
## Garden Use
Use this compact cosmos in sunny borders, containers, and cutting gardens for a long run of seasonal color. Syngenta identifies Lovesong as pollinator friendly; the broader species is also grown in cottage and butterfly gardens. Its upright habit makes it useful where flowers should rise above lower edging or neighboring foliage.
## Growing Conditions
Choose a sunny site with reasonably drained soil. Cosmos generally grows well with at least a half day of direct sun; keep seed moist while it germinates and water during extended dry weather. If storms commonly lean taller stems, add support before flowers become heavy.
## Seasonal Display
Lovesong combines large red blooms with a naturally occurring bicolour form, while finely cut green leaves keep the plant visually light. Syngenta lists the Apollo variety for mid- and late-spring, summer, and fall flowering. Its garden size ranges are approximate and may shift with light, temperature, and cultivation. ## Maintenance
Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continued bloom. Cosmos may reseed readily; remove seedheads before they mature if volunteer plants are not wanted, or retain a few to allow self-sowing.
