Cottsia gracilis, commonly known as Fermina or Slender Janusia, is a delicate, mostly-evergreen twining vine native to the arid rocky slopes and desert arroyos of the American Southwest and Mexico. This woody perennial features slender stems and opposite, linear green leaves. From spring through autumn, it produces charming yellow flowers with distinct spoon-shaped petals, followed by unique three-winged fruits. It thrives in full to partial sun and serves as a larval host for several butterflies.
