Crocosmia × crocosmiiflora ‘Walcroy’ is the cultivar sold under the trade name Walberton Yellow. It forms a deciduous clump of narrow leaves with golden-yellow flowers in summer, making it useful in sunny borders and for cutting.
## Garden profile
The [Royal Horticultural Society profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/30899/crocosmia-walberton-yellow-walcroy/details) identifies Walberton Yellow as a trade name and ‘Walcroy’ as the cultivar denomination. It describes golden-yellow flowers in mid to late summer, a clumping habit, and mature height and spread of 0.5–1 m. The RHS lists full sun or part shade, moist but well-drained soil, and uses including borders and cut flowers. The hybrid belongs to Iridaceae.
## Siting
Set the plant where its foliage and flower stems have room to form a clump. It can grow in chalk, clay, loam, or sandy soil when drainage is adequate, and the flowers are suitable for cutting. The familiar Walberton Yellow trade name remains the display name.
## Maintenance
Before spring growth begins, remove old leaves and spent flower stems. Divide the clump if it becomes congested, and allow room for its mature spread when placing it among slower-growing neighbors.
