Marketmore 76 is an open-pollinated slicing cucumber with slender, dark green fruit. Burpee lists an 8-inch fruit size, full-sun exposure, a 12-inch mature height, and a 48-inch spread; Cornell’s cultivar record describes fruit 8–9 inches long and notes disease resistance reported for this selection.
## Garden Use
Grow Marketmore 76 in a sunny vegetable bed, with room for its spreading vines or a trellis for support. The fruit is suited to fresh slicing and can also be harvested for pickling. Regular picking helps keep new fruit coming through the season.
## Growing Conditions
Plant after frost danger has passed in warm soil. Cucumbers grow best in full sun and moist, rich, well-drained soil. Keep the soil evenly watered and avoid wetting foliage when practical. A trellis improves air movement and can help fruit grow straighter.
## Maintenance
Harvest fruit while it is firm and green, before it becomes overmature. Monitor vines through the season and remove damaged foliage.
