Winter Ice™ Purple Cyclamen (Cyclamen persicum; selection 70008628) is a mounding florist cyclamen with purple flowers and a 12–14 inch height and spread. Syngenta lists bloom in early, mid-, and late spring, fall, and winter, part sun or part shade, and hardiness zone 10a; the species is frost tender and needs protection from freezing temperatures ([Syngenta](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70008628), [NC State Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/cyclamen-persicum/)).
## Seasonal display
Use this cool-season selection in a bright, sheltered position or seasonal pot where its flowers and foliage can be seen together. The breeder’s seasonal list describes the named product; the species’ broader cycle is autumn growth and winter or early-spring flowering followed by summer dormancy. [NC State Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/cyclamen-persicum/) notes the frost-tender habit and USDA zones.
## Growing setting
Part sun or part shade is the listed exposure. Choose rich, well-drained medium and avoid heat and waterlogged soil; in climates with hard freezes, protect the tuberous plant or keep it in a movable container.
## Maintenance
Water when the surface feels dry, directing water at the pot edge or base rather than into the crown. Remove spent flowers from their bases to maintain the display. When foliage fades for its summer rest, reduce watering and begin again as new leaves emerge. [University of Wisconsin Extension](https://hort.extension.wisc.edu/articles/cyclamen/) explains these watering and dormancy practices.
