Scotch Broom Plant

Cytisus scoparius, commonly known as Scotch Broom, is a vigorous, multi-stemmed deciduous shrub characterized by its upright, broom-like green branches. In late spring, it produces a profusion of fragrant, bright yellow pea-like flowers that can completely cover the plant. It features small, trifoliate leaves and thrives in poor, well-drained soils and full sun. While valued for erosion control and its drought tolerance, it is considered invasive in many regions due to its prolific seeding.
