About Dalaya Shiva Dahlia

Dalaya Shiva is a compact, clump-forming dahlia with dark green foliage and warm yellow, fully double flowers shaded orange near their bases. The Royal Horticultural Society identifies the selection as Dalaya Shiva or Dalaya Meena Shiva and lists Kledh13033 as a synonym; Selecta places Shiva in its renamed Dalaya® Garden series. ## Garden use Its upright, roughly 40 cm habit suits sunny borders, bedding, and patio containers. The flowers open from midsummer into autumn and bring a two-tone display that works well near paths and seating. The RHS describes the blooms as yellow with orange at the petal bases and lists the plant as a tuberous perennial. ## Growing conditions Choose a sunny site with fertile soil that stays moist but drains freely. Dahlias can be grown in beds or containers; allow enough room for the clump and airflow around its foliage. The RHS lists clay, loam, and sandy soils for this selection. ## Maintenance Water during dry periods and deadhead spent flowers to encourage continued bloom. In colder climates, cut back and lift the tubers in autumn for winter storage, then replant after frost risk has passed.
