The RHS describes the foliage as very dark green and the plant as compact and clump forming. ## Growing conditions Plant in full sun in fertile soil that holds moisture while draining well. Dahlias grow from tubers and perform best with regular moisture during active growth. Allow room for the clump and good airflow around the leaves. ## Maintenance Water during dry spells, pinch young shoots if a bushier plant is wanted, and deadhead faded blooms.
