Dahlia ‘Sir Alf Ramsey’ is a large decorative dahlia with mid-green foliage and enormous pink flowerheads that shade to cream at the center. The RHS records blooms 25 cm or more across from late summer to mid-autumn, making this named cultivar a striking late-season choice for beds and cutting gardens. ## Garden profile
The RHS describes a clump-forming plant for full sun and lists maximum height at 1–1.5 m and maximum spread at 0.1–0.5 m. It grows in clay, loam or sandy soil with moist but well-drained conditions; the profile accepts acid, neutral or alkaline pH. The RHS H3 hardiness mark is a UK rating and does not supply a USDA zone. Those ranges describe the selection and are retained as ranges rather than converted to a point value.
## Maintenance
Grow in fertile, humus-rich soil, water during dry spells and stake the stems to support the large flowers. Deadhead to prolong flowering, then cut back near ground level in autumn. In climates where tubers need winter protection, lift and store them before frost and replant in spring, following the [RHS dahlia growing guidance](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/152682/dahlia-sir-alf-ramsey-d/details).
