Daphne ‘Beauworth’ is a compact evergreen shrub with leathery dark-green leaves and fragrant pink flowers that can appear from late spring into summer. The Royal Horticultural Society lists the selection under both Daphne ‘Beauworth’ and Daphne × whiteorum ‘Beauworth’; its profile gives a typical height and spread of 0.1–0.5 m and recommends sun or partial shade with moist but well-drained soil ([RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/102796/daphne-beauworth/details); [RHS hybrid profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/156362/daphne-%C3%97-whiteorum-beauworth/details)). This compact scale suits an alpine trough, rock garden, or the front of a sheltered border.
The cultivar name is retained here because it identifies the selected plant; the RHS pages use different taxonomic presentations for it. The plant’s small stature and late-season flowers distinguish it from larger winter-flowering daphnes. Allow the root area to drain well and avoid disturbing an established shrub.
## Maintenance
Grow in moist, freely draining soil in sun or partial shade, with shelter from harsh conditions. Water during establishment and dry spells, but do not leave the roots in saturated soil. Mulch lightly and prune only when necessary after flowering.
