Eternal Fragrance Daphne

‘Eternal Fragrance’ Daphne is the selected form Daphne × transatlantica ‘BLAFRA’, a compact, rounded shrub with fragrant pink-flushed flowers. Its spring display can repeat more lightly through summer and fall, while the foliage remains semi-evergreen in mild climates. ## Landscape use Give this slow-growing shrub a well-drained place near a path, patio, or mixed border where its scent can be enjoyed. It also suits a small hedge or container; allow for an approximate mature size of 2–3 feet in both directions; the RHS lists a 0.5–1 m range. ## Growing conditions Plant in full sun or partial shade and moist, very well-drained soil. Protect roots from prolonged heat and dryness with mulch, and water regularly while the plant establishes. The cultivar is rated for USDA zones 6–9 by [Monrovia](https://www.monrovia.com/eternal-fragrance-daphne.html); the [Royal Horticultural Society](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/226616/daphne-eternal-fragrance/details) describes the related UK hardiness rating separately and records a 0.5–1 m range. ## Maintenance Avoid frequent moving or hard pruning. If shaping is needed, prune lightly after flowering, and keep the root zone cool and evenly drained.
