Delmara™ Red Gold - Delosperma cooperi

Delmara™ Red Gold ice plant is a low growing perennial with fleshy green leaves and vivid fuchsia flowers centered in yellow. It blooms through summer and suits sunny rock gardens and other dry, sharply drained sites. The cultivar tolerates heat and drought after it is established. ## Garden Use Allow roughly 4–6 inches of height and 12–18 inches of spread. The bright flowers stand out against the thick green foliage and attract bees. Use it as a low growing accent at the front of a sunny bed or in a container where water drains freely. ## Growing Conditions Plant in full sun and dry, well drained soil. Ice plant can decline or fail over winter where the soil stays wet, so improve drainage before planting in heavy ground. Water regularly during its first year and increase water during unusually hot weather if foliage wilts. ## Maintenance Remove faded flowers to encourage additional bloom and keep the mat tidy.
