Delmara® Yellow is a low, mat-forming ice plant with bright yellow, daisy-like flowers above succulent evergreen leaves. It spreads as a groundcover for sunny rock gardens and container edges where water drains freely.
## Flowering and Form
Green Fuse lists Delmara® Yellow in its Delmara series. Hoffie describes this exact selection as 4–6 inches tall and 14–16 inches wide, with yellow blooms from May through September. The Royal Horticultural Society describes a mat-forming evergreen plant up to 10 cm tall, with a broader 0.1–0.5 m spread and yellow flowers from mid- to late summer. Expect flowering dates and spread to vary with climate and growing conditions. ## Siting
Choose full sun and very well-drained soil. The [Green Fuse Delmara series guide](https://green-fuse.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Delosperma-Delmara-Series.pdf) recommends the series for full-sun landscape plantings, including arid climates. The exact-selection profile lists USDA zones 5–10 and drought tolerance.
## Maintenance
Water while new plants establish, then reduce supplemental irrigation once rooted, while watering during prolonged dry spells. Keep winter soil from remaining wet around the succulent roots. The RHS profile says routine pruning is not required; remove damaged foliage only when needed.
