Wheels of Wonder® Orange Wonder Ice Plant

Wheels of Wonder® Orange Wonder (Delosperma 'WOWDOY3', PP25600) is a compact ice plant with vivid orange flowers and golden-yellow centers. Its succulent, low-growing foliage suits sunny rock gardens, containers, and groundcover edges with freely draining soil. ## Garden use Set plants where they can spread without crowding smaller neighbors. The breeder lists about 6 inches tall by 20 inches wide, while Sooner Plant Farm reports 3–4 inches tall by 18–24 inches wide; growing conditions and source measurements vary, so plan for a low mat rather than a rigid footprint. The breeder describes flowering from early summer into early winter and notes that bees and butterflies visit; the nursery source highlights orange flowers with golden-yellow centers and lists zones 4–10. Its dry-soil adaptation makes it useful for sunny, water-wise plantings once established. ## Maintenance Water during establishment, then water sparingly and let the root zone dry between drinks. Avoid standing water and heavy, poorly drained soil. In containers, use a gritty mix and keep the drainage holes open.
