Wheels of Wonder® Hot Pink Wonder Ice Plant

Wheels of Wonder® Hot Pink Wonder (Delosperma 'WOWDRY1', PP26157) is a spreading ice plant with bright pink flowers centered in yellow, plus white and yellow tones that make a vivid display. It forms a low groundcover for sunny borders, rock gardens, and containers with good drainage. ## Garden use Allow room for a mat about 18–24 inches wide. Saunders Brothers lists a 4–6 inch height, zones 5–9, and spring, summer, and fall flowering; Plantipp describes pink flowers with yellow centers and reports a 15 cm height and a broader 80 cm spread. Use these published sizes as a guide because mature spread differs by source and conditions. This selection tolerates heat and drought once established, and butterflies visit its flowers. Its long flowering season makes it useful where a low, colorful edge is wanted. ## Maintenance Water while establishing, then allow the soil to dry between watering. Avoid waterlogged ground and use a freely draining container mix. Trim back only if the mat grows beyond its allotted space.
