About Pink and White Larkspur

Lilac Pink/White Bee is a compact, clump-forming delphinium with upright spikes of lilac-pink flowers and a white eye. The Royal Horticultural Society lists it for full sun and gives mature size ranges of 0.5–1 metre tall and 0.1–0.5 metre wide. ## Garden Placement Plant this pink-and-white flowering form in a sunny border, patio container, or cutting garden. Its clump-forming habit suits smaller spaces, while the tall flower spikes add vertical interest above the divided green leaves. It flowers from June through September in the RHS profile. ## Growing Conditions Choose fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil and a sheltered position. The RHS lists chalk, loam, or sandy soils and advises protection from strong winds. Its height range is about 1.6–3.3 feet and the spread range about 4–20 inches; allow enough room for the full growth habit. Delphiniums can be harmful if eaten. ## Maintenance Support the stems in exposed sites. Deadhead by cutting spent spikes back to flowering side shoots, then cut growth down after the season.
