About Barbarini® Rose Dianthus

Barbarini® Rose is a named Dianthus barbatus color selection in Syngenta’s F1 Barbarini® series, identified by product code 70001023. The breeder lists this selection as pink/rose and describes the series as upright and compact-branching. ## Flowering and form Syngenta lists mid-spring and fall flowering, with production that can be programmed from April through September. The Rose selection is part of a series presented for annual or perennial use, and its product page gives a compact garden size of about 4–8 inches high and wide. Local bloom timing and mature size depend on planting date and growing conditions. ## Planting The Barbarini® page lists full sun, part sun, and part shade. For Dianthus barbatus, the Royal Horticultural Society recommends full sun and a well-drained neutral to slightly acidic soil. Sweet William suits containers, bedding, flower borders, and cut-flower plantings. The RHS describes the species as a biennial or short-lived perennial; Syngenta also notes annual and perennial applications for the series. ## Maintenance Seed can be sown in late spring and plants set out in autumn. Deadhead as needed to keep the planting tidy.
