Constant Beauty® Crush Red is a double-flowered garden selection in Green Fuse’s Dianthus hybrid Constant Beauty® series. The red color selection provides a strong flower accent in containers and at the front edge of a sunny border. ## Garden character Green Fuse lists Crush Red in the Constant Beauty® hybrid series and describes the Crush line as double-flowered, subtly fragrant and bicolored, with a uniform habit. North Carolina Extension describes carnation culture as favoring full sun and drainage, while Green Fuse describes Constant Beauty® as continuing through summer heat. Site plants where water drains promptly; the breeder’s greenhouse finishing targets are production instructions rather than garden watering rules. ## Maintenance Deadhead fading flowers to prolong the display, keep mulch away from the crown, and watch for rust or crown rot where drainage or air circulation is poor.
