About Diabunda® Purple Dianthus

Diabunda® Purple is the solid purple selection in Syngenta’s compact F1 Diabunda® Sweet William series. Its mounding, upright habit stays about 8–10 inches tall and wide, and the breeder lists flowering from mid-spring into fall. ## Garden Use Plant this small annual in groups along a border, in seasonal bedding, or in patio containers where its purple flowers can be seen up close. Syngenta describes Diabunda as a uniform, fast-to-flower series for pack and pot production, with color varieties that also suit garden displays. The exact selection and its dimensions are shown on the [Diabunda® Purple product page](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70019213). ## Growing Conditions Give it full sun and well-drained soil. The [Royal Horticultural Society’s Dianthus barbatus profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/105495/dianthus-barbatus/details) recommends neutral to slightly acidic soil in full sun; in hot summer climates, partial afternoon shade can reduce stress. For production containers, refer to the [Syngenta Dianthus culture guide](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/sites/g/files/kgtney2381/files/file_field/import/field_media_link/sites/g/files/zhg721/f/dianthus_1.pdf). ## Maintenance Deadhead as flowers fade to keep the display tidy. Water when the soil or container mix starts to dry, while maintaining good drainage.
