Create design onlineAbout Darla® Rose Diascia
Darla® Rose is a mounding Diascia barberae with pink-to-rose flowers. Syngenta identifies the exact cultivar as product 70003547 and describes the Darla® series as a cool-season flowering option for containers and baskets.
## Flowering and placement
The breeder lists Pink/Rose flowers from early through late spring, a garden height and width of 12–14 inches, and part sun to full sun. North Carolina Extension describes the species as a long-flowering Twinspur that may bloom from spring into fall, with a pause possible during hot summer weather. It also recommends the species for hanging baskets, borders, walkways, and rock gardens.
## Growing conditions
Choose moist, organically rich, well-drained soil. Full sun or partial shade is suitable; Twinspur can be grown as an annual where winters are cold. Syngenta marks the Darla® series as pollinator friendly, and Extension records bees and butterflies visiting Diascia barberae. ## Maintenance
If summer heat interrupts bloom, shear the plant after the hottest weather to encourage a possible fall flush. Keep the soil moist while ensuring excess water can drain.
