The Chinese Persimmon is widely cultivated in the temperate areas. It is appreciated because it doesn't need anti-parasitic treatment. The large sweet fruits become edible only when ripe (October), to stay on the tree after all leaves have fallen. In China, Kaki is considered “the tree with the seven virtues”. It is frost-intolerant.
