Create design onlineAbout Dolce® Wildberry Coral Bells
Dolce® Wildberry forms a compact mound of glossy, scalloped purple leaves marked with charcoal veins. Its dark stems carry white flowers with rosy-pink calyces in midsummer, above foliage that grows about 10–14 inches tall and 16–20 inches wide. ## Seasonal interest
The bold leaves anchor the front of a border from spring into winter, while the summer flower stems add height and light contrast. The compact footprint also suits a container or repeated edging.
## Growing conditions
Grow in part shade or shade in humus-rich, well-drained soil. Keep moisture reasonably even while the plant establishes, and provide drainage rather than leaving the crown in soggy soil. Proven Winners lists the cultivar for USDA zones 4–9 with average water needs.
## Landscape use
Use the purple foliage beside silver, green, or chartreuse plants, or repeat it along a path where the rounded leaves can be seen close up. The cultivar is listed for borders, containers, edging, and mass planting.
## Maintenance
In early spring, trim away winter-damaged or tattered leaves to make room for fresh growth. The breeder describes this selection as easy to maintain and salt tolerant; those traits do not remove the need for suitable drainage.
