Dracaena fragrans ‘Massangeana’, also called Mass Cane or Corn Plant, is an evergreen cane plant with arching leaves and a broad yellow center stripe. It grows slowly and makes a foliage accent in shade. [UF/IFAS](https://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/publication/FP184/pdf) documents the cultivar’s habit, size, zones, and fragrant flowers.
## Landscape Use
Use it as a specimen or group several canes for a tropical display. UF/IFAS reports mature heights of 5–15 ft and a 2–3 ft spread; This range suits a tall indoor specimen or sheltered tropical accent. Its yellow stripe is prominent, especially in brighter indirect light, while shade protects leaves from scorching.
## Growing Conditions
Choose filtered light to shade and a draining soil or potting mix. Clay, sand, and loam are tolerated. Keep the root zone moderately moist but do not leave a pot standing in water; excess moisture can cause root rot. UF/IFAS lists USDA zones 10B–11 outdoors.
## Maintenance
Remove old lower leaves and trim damaged tips with clean tools. Repot when roots fill the container, keeping the cane base at its original depth. Rare white flowers open at night and can be strongly fragrant. Cane cuttings can be rooted to produce new plants.
