About Mission lettuce

Dudleya edulis is a striking perennial succulent native to the coastal cliffs of Southern California and Baja. It forms a dense cushion of upright, cylindrical, pale green leaves that resemble slender fingers, often blushing orange or red in summer heat. In spring, it produces branching clusters of delicate white flowers. This slow-growing species is exceptionally drought-tolerant and salt-tolerant, making it perfect for rock gardens, containers, or xeric landscapes in well-draining sandy soil.
