New Look is a compact selection of dusty miller grown for broad, pale silver foliage with a soft, felted surface. It usually forms a mound around 8–10 inches tall and makes a cool contrast beside flowering annuals.
## Garden Use
Use it along borders, in mixed containers, or as a foliage accent among stronger flower colors. The plant can persist as a perennial in mild climates and is often grown as a cool-season annual where winters are colder. Nurseries commonly use the name Senecio cineraria, while botanical references also place the species as Jacobaea maritima.
## Growing Conditions
Choose full sun and well-drained soil. Ball Seed lists New Look as drought tolerant and describes its white-gray leaves; water new plants while they establish, then avoid keeping the root zone wet. Wisconsin Extension notes that poor drainage can lead to rot.
## Maintenance
Remove damaged leaves and trim flower stems if you prefer to keep attention on the foliage.
