Dypsis mirabilis is a small, solitary palm from northeastern Madagascar. It grows as an understory plant in lowland forest, where its slender stem and relatively few broad leaflets distinguish it from larger palms.
## Habitat and Form
The species is known from the Marojejy region and is reported from valley-bottom forest at about 90–200 m. A detailed account describes a stem reaching about 2.5 m and a modest crown of pinnate leaves; Kew lists the species as accepted and places its native range in northeastern Madagascar’s wet tropical biome. See the [Palmpedia profile](https://palmpedia.net/wiki/Dypsis_mirabilis) and [Plants of the World Online](https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:985422-1/general-information).
## Siting
The species is associated with moist lowland forest, and published garden guidance is limited. Grow it only where warmth, humidity, and shelter can be maintained; do not assume it will tolerate dry air, cold exposure, or prolonged soil saturation without local experience.
## Maintenance
Keep the crown clear of damaging debris and protect the central growing point. Trim only completely dead leaves, using care around the narrow stem and emerging spear.
