About Amazing Dream Coneflower

Echinacea ‘Amazing Dream’ forms a compact mound of deep-pink petals surrounding a broad orange eye. The breeder reports flowers from June through October, giving this selection an unusually long season of color for a small coneflower. ## Garden Use Terra Nova lists a 16-inch plant height, 20-inch width, and 24-inch flowering height, and notes that the cultivar received a high rating in Michigan State University container trials. Use it in sunny borders, mass plantings, or a container where its pink flowers can be seen close by. Its compact habit also suits the front half of a mixed perennial bed. ## Growing Conditions Plant in full sun and provide well-drained soil. The RHS lists chalk, loam, and sand as suitable soil types; Terra Nova recommends average garden soil and moisture. Water during establishment and allow excess water to drain freely. The breeder lists USDA hardiness zones 4–9. ## Maintenance Remove faded flowers to encourage continued bloom, as advised by the RHS. Cut back old stems after flowering, or leave some standing until spring for seasonal structure.
