DARK SHADOWS™ Wicked Coneflower

DARK SHADOWS™ Wicked is an upright coneflower with watermelon-pink flowers arranged in a bouquet-like display. Dark chocolate-brown stems and cones stand above dense green foliage, giving this selection strong color through late summer. ## Size and placement The breeder lists foliage height at 12 inches, spread at 14 inches, and flowering height at 16 inches, with hardiness in USDA Zones 4–9. Plant it in full sun in average, well-drained soil; its upright habit suits a border, bedding, or a container. [Terra Nova Nurseries](https://www.terranovanurseries.com/product/echinacea-dark-shadows-wicked/) provides the selection-specific size, flower color, bloom, and use details. ## Bloom and garden use Flowers open from July through October and are suitable for cutting. Terra Nova also lists the plant as fragrant, a pollinator and hummingbird attractor, deer resistant, and low water use. The plant is part of the DARK SHADOWS™ series and is identified by breeder code TNECHDSW. ## Maintenance Use well-drained soil and water according to conditions; the breeder gives average garden water needs and recommends moderate drying between waterings. Remove faded stems if a tidier border is preferred, while leaving some seed heads can extend seasonal structure.
