About Green Envy Coneflower

Green Envy is a named coneflower with lime-green petals that develop a pink flush and a central cone that changes from green toward purple as the flowers mature. Its color shifts create a changing display in sunny or partly shaded perennial plantings. [Royal Horticultural Society](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/250226/echinacea-green-envy/details) ## Flowers and mature size The RHS describes this selection as a herbaceous perennial with long-lasting flowers. It gives a mature height range of 0.5–1 metre and a spread of 0.1–0.5 metre, so allow room for variation as the clump fills out. Place it where the changing flowers can rise above low neighboring plants. ## Siting The RHS lists full sun or partial shade and chalk, loam, or sandy soil, with well-drained moisture conditions. A sunny position supports flowering, while partial shade is also suitable. Use the distinct green-to-pink petals and green-to-purple cone as a color accent in mixed borders or near paths where the flower changes can be seen. ## Maintenance Water while new plants establish and during prolonged dry weather. Keep the soil well drained, and remove spent stems when the display is finished.
