About Pow Wow Wildberry Coneflower

PowWow® Wild Berry Coneflower (*Echinacea purpurea*) is an upright selection with intense rose-colored flowers and a darker rose center. PanAmerican Seed lists first-year plants at 16–20 inches tall and second-year plants at 22–24 inches, with a 12–16-inch spread. Its late-spring-through-autumn flowering period suits sunny borders and containers. ## Garden use The breeder lists Wild Berry as the rose-colored companion to PowWow White, sharing the series’ compact, well-branched habit and first-year flowering. It is recognized as an All-America Selections winner and is listed for USDA Zones 4a–10b. The plant information gives a sun exposure and upright habit; the cultivar page also describes the series as very drought tolerant. Water through establishment, then provide a deep soak during extended dry weather. Its compact proportions work well near a path, at the front of a border, or in a larger container. ## Maintenance Cut back old stems in spring as new growth appears. Deadhead fading blooms to keep the display neat, or leave some flowers to form seed heads for winter texture and wildlife. Avoid overwatering once the plant is established.
