About PRIMA® Berry Coneflower

PRIMA™ ‘Berry’ is a compact coneflower with long, draping petals in a deep berry-pink shade. Its branching, multi-crown habit can flower in the first year, and the breeder lists a 14-inch foliage height, 24-inch spread, and flowering from June through October. ## Placement Grow in full sun in USDA hardiness zones 4–9. The compact, mounding form suits the front of a mixed border or a container. The breeder lists flowering from June through October. See the [TERRA NOVA® cultivar profile](https://www.terranovanurseries.com/product/echinacea-prima-berry/) for the flower description, seasonal timing, and dimensions. ## Growing Use average garden soil with good drainage. Plant the crown level with the surrounding soil; the breeder identifies planting too deeply as a common cause of losses in Echinacea. Water for establishment, then allow the soil to dry moderately between waterings and avoid prolonged waterlogging. ## Maintenance Keep the planting open enough for airflow and check the crown after planting so it remains at soil level. During dormancy, avoid late applications of slow-release fertilizer. The [TERRA NOVA® Echinacea growing guidance](https://www.terranovanurseries.com/product/echinacea-prima-berry/) provides additional crop and watering details.
