About PRIMA® Ginger Coneflower

PRIMA™ ‘Ginger’ is a compact, clumping coneflower whose soft-orange blooms age toward pink. The breeder describes a multi-crown plant that flowers in its first year and lists a 12-inch height, 15-inch spread, and a June-to-October bloom period. ## Placement Grow in full sun in USDA hardiness zones 4–9. The compact, mounding form suits the front of a mixed border or a container. The breeder lists flowering from June through October. See the [TERRA NOVA® cultivar profile](https://www.terranovanurseries.com/product/echinacea-prima-ginger/) for the flower description, seasonal timing, and dimensions. ## Growing Use average garden soil with good drainage. Plant the crown level with the surrounding soil; the breeder identifies planting too deeply as a common cause of losses in Echinacea. Water for establishment, then allow the soil to dry moderately between waterings and avoid prolonged waterlogging. ## Maintenance Keep the planting open enough for airflow and check the crown after planting so it remains at soil level. During dormancy, avoid late applications of slow-release fertilizer. The [TERRA NOVA® Echinacea growing guidance](https://www.terranovanurseries.com/product/echinacea-prima-ginger/) provides additional crop and watering details.
