Green Twister Coneflower

Echinacea purpurea ‘Green Twister’ is a clump-forming coneflower with lime-green outer petals, pink to carmine tones near the cone, and a sturdy upright habit. The breeder describes summer flowers on plants reaching about 100 cm tall, while the Royal Horticultural Society gives a broader 0.5–1 m height and a 0.1–0.5 m spread. ## Garden use Plant it in a sunny or lightly shaded border where the unusual green-and-pink flowers can be seen up close. Its single blooms also work as cut flowers, and the open cones provide food for visiting bees. Keep its mature spread in mind when spacing it among other perennials. ## Growing conditions Provide well-drained soil and full sun for the strongest flowering; it also tolerates part shade. The RHS lists chalk, loam, and sand among suitable soil types. Water during establishment and during prolonged dry weather, then adjust irrigation to soil moisture and local conditions. ## Maintenance Remove faded flowers to reduce self-seeding or leave some heads to mature for seed and late-season texture.
