SunSeekers™ Rainbow Coneflower

SunSeekers® Rainbow is a named Echinacea selection whose semi-double flowers shift through yellow, peach, orange, apricot-pink, and lavender-pink tones as they develop. Upright stems and green foliage make the changing color useful in mixed perennial plantings and cutting gardens. ## Site and season Emerisa Gardens lists 12–24 inches tall and 16–24 inches wide; Park Seed gives a mature height of 24 inches and width of 22 inches. Both describe a sunny site, while Emerisa also lists part shade. Flowers continue from summer into fall. Park Seed identifies the selection as Echinacea hybrida ‘IFECSSRA’, and Emerisa lists that code as a synonym for SunSeekers Rainbow. ## Garden use Plant it in a border or container where the flowers can be seen at close range. Stems can be cut or dried, and the flowers provide visits for bees and butterflies. The shifting hues pair readily with single-color summer perennials. ## Maintenance Use well-drained soil and provide full sun or light afternoon shade.
