Artisan™ Collection Soft Orange Echinacea

Artisan™ Collection Soft Orange is an upright Echinacea hybrid whose flowers open deep orange and soften as they mature. PanAmerican Seed describes the Artisan plants as uniform, highly branched, first-year-flowering selections. [Breeder profile](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/024108626015292/echinacea-artisan-collection-soft-orange/) ## Garden placement The breeder lists a mature height of 24–34 inches and spread of 10–25 inches, with hardiness from USDA zones 4a–10b. It flowers from late spring into summer and autumn and is listed for sun exposure. Leave space for the listed spread so its upright habit and flowering stems have room to show. ## Seasonal display Artisan is an F1 hybrid seed collection developed for consistent plant structure and flowering; Soft Orange is distinguished by deep-orange flowers that lighten as they age. PanAmerican Seed also includes Soft Orange in its Bee-Yond pollinator program. [Pollinator program](https://www.panamseed.com/Pollinators/) ## Maintenance Choose a sunny site with well-drained soil, following general coneflower guidance. Removing faded flowers can keep the display tidy, while leaving some seed heads provides food for birds; the Chicago Botanic Garden notes this tradeoff for coneflowers.
