Create design onlineAbout Outback Sunrise Emu
Outback Sunrise is a low, spreading form of *Eremophila glabra* sold as ‘Mingenew Gold’. Its evergreen foliage forms a broad groundcover, and yellow tubular flowers appear in spring, with some sellers also reporting summer bloom.
## Growing Conditions
Plant in full sun or light shade with sharp drainage. Water regularly while roots establish, then let soil dry between deep irrigations. This emu bush tolerates drought once established and suits warm, dry climates; avoid keeping the root zone wet.
## Landscape Use
Use the spreading plant along a sunny border, over a slope, or as groundcover around larger shrubs. Mature size varies among growers: some describe 1–2 feet tall and 3–5 feet wide, while the retail listing gives about 1 foot by 12 feet. Plan for a broad mat where the form is welcome.
## Maintenance
Water during establishment and extended heat, then keep irrigation modest. Lightly trim stems that exceed the allotted area after flowering, and avoid cutting deeply into old woody growth.
