California buckwheat (*Eriogonum fasciculatum*) is an evergreen shrub with narrow leaves that are often woolly beneath. Clusters of white to pale pink flowers rise above the foliage from late spring through fall, then dry to rusty brown and persist into the cooler season. ## Landscape Use Use this adaptable native as a specimen or in groups on dry slopes and banks to cover exposed ground.
