Pineapple Lily

Eucomis is a genus of southern African bulbous perennials whose upright flower spikes are topped with leafy bracts, giving them the common name pineapple lily or pineapple flower. Keep soil evenly moist while foliage and flowers are growing, without leaving bulbs waterlogged. In colder areas, grow plants in containers that can be moved to shelter or protect garden bulbs with a dry winter mulch. ## Seasonal interest and use Depending on species and cultivar, flowers appear from summer into fall above a basal rosette of strap-shaped leaves.
