Flare Yellow is a double-flowered lisianthus in Ball’s Flare F1 cut-flower series. It produces medium yellow blooms in sprays near the top of upright stems; Ball lists a 36–45 inch stem height and recommends greenhouse or high-tunnel production ([Ball Seed Flare Yellow plant information](https://info.ballseed.com/PlantInfo/?phid=039106930006060), [PanAmerican Seed Flare series catalog](https://catalog.panamseed.com/view/445948364/179/)). The series is bred for a concentrated spray of flowers and reduced sensitivity to rosetting during production.
## Flowers and Use
Use the long stems as focal or volume flowers in arrangements. The flowers open within a short window on each stem, creating a bouquet-like spray. Harvest when the first flower on the stem has opened, then hydrate and hold stems in a commercial floral solution according to product directions.
## Growing
Ball’s production guidance describes pelleted seed, greenhouse or high-tunnel culture, and an 8–10 week plug stage before transplanting. Crop time after transplant varies with season and temperature, so growers should use the breeder’s schedule as a planning guide rather than a fixed calendar.
## Maintenance
Provide full sun and support stems when crop conditions or wind require it. Pinching is not needed for the Flare series; removing spent stems after harvest keeps the production area clear.
