About Sapphire Pink Rim Lisianthus

Sapphire Pink Rim is a compact lisianthus selection with white petals edged in pink. Its short, well-branched habit makes it suited to a small pot or the front of a seasonal planting, where its two-tone flowers can be viewed at close range. ## Container and bloom PanAmerican Seed lists this Sapphire selection at 5–6 inches tall and 4–6 inches wide, flowering from late spring into late summer. The breeder recommends one plug in a 4-inch pot or multiple plants in a larger container. Garden Gate describes the white, pink-edged flowers and the same compact size and season. See the [PanAmerican Seed product profile](https://www.panamseed.com/products/031802981004159/lisianthus-sapphire-pink-rim/) and [Garden Gate cultivar profile](https://www.gardengatemagazine.com/articles/flowers-plants/plant-guide/how-to-grow-lisianthus/?_hsmi=202600498). ## Maintenance Place containers in a sunny position and space plants for air circulation. If starting from pelleted seed, use a fine seed-starting mix and do not bury the seed; lisianthus seed needs light to germinate. Keep seedlings evenly moist without saturating the mix, then water the established pot when the surface begins to dry. The breeder’s production schedule allows 8–10 weeks for plugs and another 12–16 weeks from transplant to finish.
