About Sapphire White Lisianthus

Sapphire White is a compact, upright lisianthus selected for pot culture and white flowers. PanAmerican Seed lists this Sapphire selection at 5–6 inches tall and 4–6 inches wide, with flowering from late spring into summer ([product details](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/031802981005863/lisianthus-sapphire-white/)). ## Placement Grow it in a small container or grouped pot where its branching flowers can be seen at close range. The breeder describes Sapphire as its compact indoor-use series and recommends a single plug in a 4-inch pot or several plants in a larger container. ## Water and growing medium Give the plant bright light and a free-draining, loam-based or soilless potting medium. Keep the medium moist while buds and flowers are developing, but do not leave it wet; allow slight drying between waterings. The [RHS lisianthus profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/57097/eustoma-grandiflorum/details) recommends full sun and moist but well-drained soil, while PanAmerican's [pot-culture guide](https://www.panamseed.com/Media/Culture/PAS/LisianthusPot-Bedding.pdf) gives container-specific watering guidance. ## Maintenance Remove spent flower stems to keep the compact pot tidy and place it where it receives good air movement. In frost-prone climates, treat the plant as a seasonal flowering pot and protect it from freezing weather.
