About Snow Mountain Pearl Bush

Snow Mountain pearl bush is a compact, deciduous shrub selected for abundant white spring flowers. Pearly buds open along the branches, and the flowers can cover the plant from the lowest branches to the top. ## Form and flowering The selection has an upright, densely branched habit and is reported at about 1.6 m tall and wide, with some nursery descriptions giving a slightly greater mature height. Its spring display suits a mixed border, informal hedge, or large container. The white flowers also attract pollinating insects. ## Siting Plant in full sun or light shade in deep, fertile soil that stays moist but drains freely. Clay or loamy garden soil can work if it is not waterlogged. The cited nursery profile lists hardiness to USDA Zone 5 and flowering in May; local bloom timing shifts with climate. ## Maintenance Pruning is usually light. After flowering, remove spent or crowded branches; every two or three years, older stems can be shortened to encourage fresh growth and keep the center open.
