Columnar Oriental Beech

Neatly narrow with strong upright branches. Dense foliage is ovate with wavy margins typical of beech. Tolerates a wide range of soils and conditions, though will not thrive in frequently wet clay. Will tolerate partial shade but is best in full sun. Better heat and wind resistance than Fagus sylvatica. May eventually have small, capsule like fruits in autumn when tree is fully mature.
